Maureen “Quinn” Flaherty - More Details
Maureen “Quinn” Flaherty, a native from Long Beach, has been an advocate for her community since 2020, in relation to the lock downs and mandates of the time. A devoted wife of 30 years and mother of a 19-year-old son who is attending college, Maureen manages her time well to achieve successful outcomes of her desired goals. Maureen is dedicated to her faith, family, community, and career.
Working in the educational field since 2004, she holds two educational credentials and a Master of Arts in Education and Counseling that allows her to teach and counsel students from kindergarten through 12th grade. Currently, Maureen is working as a special education teacher for students with mild to moderate learning disabilities. Maureen believes every student can learn if they have the internal motivation to do so that she instills in them with her caring, passionate, and individualized teaching style. The teacher evaluations she has received reveal that she is a teacher who cares and values students and families.
During Covid, Maureen couldn’t just sit still, so she formed a grassroots group called Long Beach Freedom USA, and held events weekly on Saturdays where she connected and educated Long Beach and the surrounding areas of their constitutional rights. Speakers such as Dr. Peter McCullough informed the public about the Covid-19 mRNA EUA vaccine, Congressman Kevin Kiley educated about California’s civil rights through discussion about his book, “Recall Newsom: The Case Against America’s Most Corrupt Governor,” Leslie Manookian, Health Freedom Defense Fund Founder and President, who led the successful legal battle that overturned the “Federal Travel Mask Mandate” back in 2022 and instrumental in the passage of “Idaho’s Medical Freedom Act” 2025 discussed legal cases she is involved in that protect employees from getting fired for not taking an emergency use authorized vaccine, and Dr. Mark McDonald who wrote, “The United States of Fear,” educated from the psychological perspective about what we endured during Covid. Having coordinated and planned over 100 events with numerous distinguished speakers, Maureen feels it’s time to take on an elected office that is Board Member for Long Beach Unified School District, District 5 so she can advocate for a healthier, protected, and learning-centered environment for students and families of her community.
Maureen continues to educate Long Beach and the surrounding areas of their God-given constitutional rights through her monthly events as President of the Long Beach Eagle Forum Chapter, advocates for medical freedom through volunteering for Children’s Health Defense, fights for parents rights through leadership with Moms for Liberty, and helps get elected, constitutionally- minded candidates through her Assembly District 69 and precinct of which she is a central committee member, leader, and delegate.
